Founded on December 10, 1968 as Nemer Indústria de Mármore Ltda., on May 22, 1986 it was established as Nemer Mármores e Granitos S.A. With its main activities the extraction and processing of marble and granite blocks, over the years Nemer S.A. has incorporated other companies in the group, making them into subsidiaries. Among these companies incorporated are CS Granitos e Mármores Ltda., Nemer Exportadora Ltda., Emisul - Empresa de Mineração Sul Bahia Ltda. and Nemer Rochas Ltda.
